You don't need a garage full of props to have the house kids point at on Halloween. A few pieces in the right spots go a long way: something glowing on the porch, something on the lawn, a cluster of bats by the door and a candy bowl worth walking up for. Most of the ideas below run on batteries or a single plug, and they all pack away small.

We pulled these from the decor that keeps showing up in this year's Halloween roundups, then checked each one against the brand's own page or a non-Amazon retailer listing on October 19, 2026. We haven't personally tested these items. Sizes, colors and versions can differ between listings, so read the listing before you buy.

Check the delivery date on each listing before ordering.

For the front porch and yard

Good for: Porch ceilings, trees and doorways

1. JOYIN 47-Inch Light-Up Hanging Ghost

Why we like it: One hanging ghost makes a porch look decorated from the street, and since it runs on batteries you can hang it anywhere a hook will go.

From the listing

  • About 47 in long, with a warm white LED glow
  • Built-in timer: one press runs a 6-hour light cycle, two presses keep it on
  • Runs on 3 AA batteries, so no outlet or cord is needed
  • Bendable arms you can pose

Good for: Front yards

2. Gemmy Airblown Oogie Boogie Halloween Inflatable

Why we like it: A lit inflatable is the fastest way to fill an empty lawn. Check the height on the listing, since this character comes in several sizes.

From the listing

  • Self-inflates with its built-in fan once plugged in, then deflates for storage
  • Lit from inside with LED lights
  • Stakes and tethers are included for outdoor setup
  • For indoor or outdoor use; sizes vary by listing

Good for: Covered porches and entryways

3. Haunted Hill Farm Trevor the Animated Zombie Groundbreaker (21 in)

Why we like it: A small animated prop by the door gets a reaction from trick-or-treaters without taking over the whole porch.

From the listing

  • About 21 in tall, set up to look like it's climbing out of the ground
  • Touch-activated: the head and arms move, the eyes glow red and it plays sounds
  • Runs on 3 AA batteries
  • Made for indoor or covered outdoor use (model HHRPR-1LSA)

Good for: Lighting up the front of the house

4. Govee Holiday Pattern Projector Light (H3860)

Why we like it: It lights up a whole house front with one plug, and the extra discs mean you can use it again for winter holidays.

From the listing

  • 16 swappable pattern discs across 6 holiday themes, including Halloween
  • Projects patterns plus a color-changing nebula light, with a focus ring
  • Govee says it covers up to about 1,500 sq ft
  • IP67-rated projector; app, voice and Matter control

Good for: Big porches and yards

5. Ocato 200-Inch Halloween Spider Web with Giant Spider

Why we like it: It covers a lot of space for one item. Stretch it across a porch corner or between two trees, and take it all down after the holiday so it doesn't catch wildlife.

From the listing

  • A 200-inch web with a 59-inch fuzzy spider
  • The spider has red eyes and posable legs
  • For indoor or outdoor use

For walls, doors and windows

Good for: Front doors, walls and mirrors

6. DIYASY 3D Bat Wall Decor, 120 Pieces

Why we like it: A swarm of bats around the front door or up a stairwell looks like a lot of effort, and they store flat for next year.

From the listing

  • 120 black PVC bats in 4 sizes
  • Fold the wings for a 3D flying look
  • Adhesive backing for smooth, dry surfaces
  • Waterproof material

Good for: Entryways, windows and party rooms

7. Homemory Hanging Floating Candles with Wand Remote, 12 Pieces

Why we like it: Candles that seem to float are a fun surprise for party guests, and there's no open flame near kids or costumes.

From the listing

  • 12 flameless LED taper candles, each about 6.5 in tall, with a flickering warm light
  • A 13-inch wand remote turns them all on and off
  • Comes with 165 ft of clear fishing line and 12 sticky hooks for hanging
  • Each candle takes 2 AA batteries and the wand takes 1 (not included)

For the party table and candy bowl

8. DII Black Lace Spider Web Tablecloth (54 x 72 in)

Why we like it: Lay it over an orange or purple cloth and a plain table is ready for a party in a minute.

  • 100% polyester
  • Works on its own or over a solid tablecloth (not included)
  • Machine washable

9. Mud Pie Halloween Hyacinth Footed Bat Candy Bowl

Why we like it: A cute, not-scary bowl that works for little trick-or-treaters and looks nice on a table all month.

  • Woven water hyacinth, hand-painted to look like a bat
  • Stands on wire bat legs and has googly eyes
  • About 11.5 in tall and 9 in across

Good for: Trick-or-treat night at the door

10. FUNPENY Animated Pumpkin Candy Bowl

Why we like it: Kids love a bowl that grabs back. Turn the motion mode off for the youngest trick-or-treaters.

From the listing

  • A skeleton hand pops up when a hand reaches in, with red light-up eyes and sounds
  • Two modes: motion-activated, or press the nose
  • Holds about 8 cups of candy
  • Runs on 3 AA batteries

Easy setup tips

  • Start at the door. Trick-or-treaters see the porch first, so put the hanging ghost and the bats where the walk ends.
  • Stock up on batteries. Several picks take AA batteries that aren't included. Count them up before the night.
  • Keep the walkway clear. Stake inflatables and webs away from steps, and keep cords out of the path.
  • Clean up webbing fully. Take down stretchy webs after Halloween so birds and small animals don't get tangled.
